Reason for Visit: Had requested several information against police
Review: I had a police case who were not cooperating at all. They were not showing me inquiry reports which was first all my rights according to Police Law itself but they simply making excuses, it is for internal use etc etc and not for public. After a large number of trip and going back and forth with no luck, I finally requested RTI to get my reports.
First of all, it took me more than 5 months to get my reports. I was persistented and even visited RTI office itself, calling them multiple times to get my report. That effort paid of. I got my reports which were huge relief for me because the reports vindicated my stance and had advised that department action should be taken against police.
As this report was against against Police, who were not cooperating, it did take 5 long months which I would say is too long but at least they got the job done. Not only that they also entertained my second complaint against Peshawar Jail. That complaint took about 3 months to get.
While there is room for improvement but at least they got the job done. It was huge relief for me in both the cases. I would strongly advise you to use KPRTI Commission to get any information you want that is in provincial government capacity. You dont have to visit their office, everything can be done online.
