Reason for Visit: Hiking to the top
Review: There is not much info available on Mukshpuri Track for beginner, so I will add it here since I went there last week.
Access to the track is from Dunga Gali, main bazaar. You have to park your car at Mukhpuri Top "Parking lot" which is behind a local hotel there and cost Rs 100. Note that when you park there, you have to walk the first mile to the track which is basically steep hill road.
Also note that parking is available at the start of the track, but the hill is very steam. We have seen a number of cars struggling to climb it, with my own Corolla 1.6, which kind of smoked on the way and had to return. The park space on the top is limited though, about 8 cars but you should first try up there as you dont want to track the road unncessarily if you dont want too.
Soon when you enter the track, it divides into two tracks, left one is long (about 3 hours), right one is short and steep (about 1:45 hours). We took the short one and it was great trail, at time a bit tough. You need to be fit to climb this track.
It took us exactly 1 hour 45 min to finish track from start and if you taking the initial walking from the parking lot, it took us exact 2 hour to reach the top.
The top views are amazing, large meadows and views. You can easily spend a couple of hours there enjoy the views. Team and Pakora was available on top, albeit twice the price at the bazaar.
To go back and forth you need 5 hours, but if you are fit, can sure do it in less time. I would highly recommend this activity.
Also note that you can camp at the very top as well but you need permission for that. One more thing, no toilets and bathroom at the top or on the way, so you should be aware of that. I would defintely urge tourist authorities to have some kind of facility there. The track was quite busy and popular, in fact more busy than pipeline track that we did a day before.
