Reason for Visit: Complaint against police
Review: Dear Sir /madam.
I am a UK citizen of Pakistani origin and hail from village Bukiter in Sirikot area.
I would like to bring it to your attention that yesterday my brother named Iqbal Shah who is a resident of village Bukiter in sirikot along with one of nephews named Farhatullah Shah went to a court in Haripur on 10/06/2021, in connection with attendance of my brother Iqbal shah's son Faisal Iqbal who has been falsely implicated in a crime he never committed and is now in prison in Haripur.The then SHO of Kot Najibullah police station inspector Muhammed Arif got him arrested and detained, interrogated and tortured him to obtain confession at the behest of an SSP Mazhar Iqbal currently serving with Karachi police. Both inspector Arif and SSP Mazhar are from sirikot area. Mazhar is from Mashwani tribe and is harbouring animosity against my family and Arif is from Gujjar family settled in sirikot area. Both are involved in local politics and they target their political rivals taking advantage of their position in the police department. Its deplorable.
When tmy brother and nephew entered the court premises a group of 9 persons from village Baso Maira put them in fear for their life. They harassed and intimated my brother Iqbal Shah and my nephew Farhatullah Shah and put them in fear of being harmed in the presence of policemen in the court precincts The police were silent spectators. Luckily my nephew and brother got into their car and immediate drove off unhurt.
I would request the DPO of Haripur to look into the incident seriously and take action accordingly. Its the police responsibility to protect lives. They did not do their job. Also, I have advised my brother and nephew to approach the area police to register FIR against the criminals. I hope they listen to them this time around. What a country!.
